Pay particular attention as you go on your leisurely walks around Bribie. You may just inadvertently find yourself stumbling into the Bribie Rock Hunt!
Hunting for rocks on Bribie Island has become a very popular pastime for many locals and visitors. But where exactly do they all come from?
Bribie has a group of over 600 locals who hand-paint and hide these little gems all across the island. You will notice that each one has a secret message on the back:
Keep me or re-hide me and take a photo to let us know where you found me!
Think of it as the Flintstone's version of Pokemon Go.
Whilst initially intended for kids, adults also get a real kick out of finding these hidden gems, some with inspirational quotes, others with cute pictures, all hand-made by locals. It's all about feeling part of the community.
Some of these are so beautifully painted - it really is a hard decision on whether to keep or re-hide!
So keep your eyes open. You never know what you may find!
