Moving to Bribie? Part 3: Land a local job

Updated: Mar 26, 2022

Once you move to Bribie Island, you rarely want to leave. Whether you’re looking for full time, part time, casual or even volunteer work, Bribie often has a number of opportunities pop up that may spark your interest. Today we will look at both paid and volunteer opportunities so you can land a local job!

PAID LOCAL JOBS

Today, there are over 40 paid local jobs available in and around Bribie Island, spanning 12 different industries.

  1. Accounting

  2. Community Services & Development

  3. Education & Training

  4. Farming, Animals & Conservation

  5. Government & Defence

  6. Healthcare & Medical

  7. Hospitality & Tourism

  8. Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics

  9. Real Estate & Property

  10. Retail & Consumer Products

  11. Sales

  12. Trades & Services

The most common roles fall under Healthcare and Hospitality, so if you’re looking for work in either of these industries there always seems to be something on offer.

VOLUNTEER LOCAL JOBS

Today there is only 1 volunteer position listed in the Bribie area, with more listed across Caboolture and Morayfield. So I’m going to showcase this one special volunteer position – because it’s beautiful. I will also include some instructions for our local non-profit businesses on how to sign up for SEEK Volunteer so you can start advertising for FREE!

FEATURED

Community Volunteer with St John

  • Min 1 hour / fortnight

  • You must like drinking tea, coffee or water, love a chat and be passionate about making a difference in someone’s life.

We are taking a new approach to COVID isolation for older community members. We are looking for a hands-on diverse team of volunteers to support us to help our community.

Isolation is such a concern for older people in our community, many of our clients need someone to connect with – play scrabble or chess with – or just to be there! Some people love a giggle or two or even listening (and singing) to their favourite tunes.

If you think you have something to give, we would love to have you on board! All we need is a commitment of 1 hour each fortnight (we would love more if you have it) and a listening ear.

Please help us to combat isolation! Apply Now

FREE JOB ADVERTISING FOR NON-PROFITS

SEEK Volunteer is completely free for not-for-profit organisations. If you are a volunteer manager, responsible for recruiting volunteers or just in need of volunteers right now, SEEK Volunteer can help.

When you register with SEEK, you can –

  • Upload a profile about your organisation

  • Post your volunteering job opportunities

  • Gain access to thousands of volunteers who come to the SEEK website looking for opportunities to volunteer

Register your community organisation by completing a simple form. SEEK will then review your details, finalise your new account and you’ll be ready to advertise your job opportunities.

BribieGirl.com has added a “Local Jobs” section to our website which provides live links to all local jobs across Bribie Island, Sandstone Point and Ningi to help you stay up to date with the types of jobs on offer, and possibly even land a local job!
