Life needs more beaches and bonfires
Roving performers, live bands, food trucks, carnival rides, games, two 3-meter high bonfires and a fireworks display to close out the night. This would have to be the biggest mid-winter bonfire event of the year!
BONFIRE
10, 9, 8......
The crowd counted down the lighting of the Bonfire and it did not disappoint.
Both bonfires were lit in a flame and fireworks display, throwing ambers into the air to the cheers of kids and adults alike.
With the sun setting behind us and a slight chill starting to creep into the air, the sudden rush of warmth set the crowds mood alight for the rest of the very special evening.
A spectacle not to miss.
ROVING PERFORMERS
The theme of fire was on show throughout the night with roving performances from Fire Man Stilt Walkers and the Combat Fire Duo. The giant spider put on a spectacular light show as the Combat Fire Duo battled it out with fire-swords combined with fire-breathing backflips.
CARNIVAL RIDES & GAMES
Bonfire night was divided into two main areas. Band and entertainers next to the main bonfire located directly to the rear of the hotel overlooking the water to Bribie Island. Around to the left behind the grandstand exuded a carnival feel with rides and games for all ages.

LIVE BANDS
The band played a good mix of new and old favourites and had people up on their feet dancing throughout the night. Lots of fire-themed songs featured in the sets, which was quite clever and amusing.
FOOD TRUCKS
There was a great selection of food on offer, but the lines were long and we quickly learned that the average wait would be 15-45mins depending on your choice.
Potato slinkies $7: ~15mins in the queue, but at least you get your food immediately once you have made it to the front of the line
Woodfired Pizzas from $19: Not much of a line, we walked straight up and there was only one person in front of us, but the wait was really long ~40mins. Parents with hungry little kids were struggling to keep them happy.
Snowcone $3: Bargain and fast! 3 people in the queue and you get it straight away. This was the quickest and cheapest line of the night!
Waffles from $12: No line-up at all, but the wait was long. It took ~30mins. But oh my goodness! These waffles are light, fluffy and DELICIOUS. Great value for money.
FIREWORKS DISPLAY
To finish the night we were treated to a fireworks display that made the crowd ooh and aah.
Brilliant explosions of blue, red, yellow, orange, and purple scattering across the starry sky. Followed by sparkling whites popping, sizzling, and thoroughly delighting the crowd.
There is nothing better than finishing the night with clear skies and a perfect fireworks display!
